Default Argent Silver Wheel Paint?

I just bought new tires and thought I'd freshen up the paint on the wheels. Big Mistake.
The paint I purchased from Corvette America isn't the same color, has too much grey in it and doesn't have the correct gloss. Luckily I only ruined 4 of my 5 wheels. I'm driving the car around today, but every time I look at the wheels, I am reminded that the color is not correct. Kind of a bummer. Just another example of why I need to stop messing with the car and just drive the darn thing.

Luckily I have my spare to make sure I get the correct color.

Hello
I had a similar problem with the paint. It didnt turn out the way I wanted, and I gave up on the color match and painted the rims with some left over silver paint. The texture came out better also.

How do you feel each time you look at your rims now? Do you want to start over again.

Yeah, it just bugs me. Kinda funny actually, but the factory color does look a lot better. I'll be participating in parade this weekend with 53 other Corvettes and I know I'll be envious of all the other wheels that are painted correctly. I guess I'll just be the mutt of the group and hope nobody points and laughs.

We have a paint booth here at work and the guys claim they can match the original color exactly. I'll probably bring in my spare and have them mix up some paint for me. Now I'll have to mask my new tires.....

Thank you for the link. I did read this and though about trying to find the VHT brand locally or maybe order the paint from Eckler's. I bought engine orange from Ecklers and it was a dead on match to my original color. In fact, I only painted half my engine the first day and when I went back to finish, I could not tell where the new paint stopped and where the old started. So, I feel pretty good about the color of my engine.
