I was going to install them on my vette (but sold it). Did a lot of research trying to get answers to the same questions you asked. I did finally get info from a couple guys who had them installed, they both gave the same answer, that getting in and out isn't real easy, but they installed the kits for looks more than anything else.

This isn't my car ... just my pics.

Here's one more pic of the engine ... I have no idea what it is.

They're different.... err.. they used to be different. Now, at least in my opinion, they're kind of overdone, and furthermore, I don't think they belong on a Vette, but again that's just my opinion. Do what YOU want to it. It's YOUR car.

Just a thought... I hope you don't have sidepipes, also. I can't see that ending well unless your legs are fire retardant.

Ok where do I start this? 1st I am not a NCRS guy. ALL of my cars are "rodded" in one form or another . The only thing I drive that's not modded is my company car which is my daily driver. I work for a multi line dealer (9 franchises). Where I work we service 2 lines of imports. I do get to see - operate - drive cars with Lambo doors. The ONLY positive I can see with doing this is "looks" if that's what you're after (by the way not my taste ). Most of the kits require you to open the door before you swing it up. Any wiring running through the doors (P/W - P/L - lighting) has to be long enough so it doesn't inhibit the upward path of the door. Now don't forget it has to return inside the cowl when the door comes back down. The other consideration is on most of these kits is if you forget and allow the door to go up before it's opened out you will damage the edge of door and fender. Should I keep going or do you have the idea? My point - If you have to have it - do your homework and know what you're getting yourself into. I say from my experience -

That's wild! I wonder how many times it took to engineer those doors without the door glass breaking. But I totally love those hide-a-ways over Lambos mostly due to its uniqueness.

8 out of 10 people would roll their eyes, and then laugh at you once they were about five feet away.

1 out of 10 would keep asking you to open and close them so he can video tape it on his cell phone.

The last guy would find a way to break them.
