They both look really nice... I've never seen the 1971 in person, but I have seen the 1969 at several NCRS meets when Tom K. owned it. Absolutely gorgeous car with darn near every option. I'd be proud to put either one in my garage.

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to see that LS-6 at some point in the future too.

Thanks a lot! That Yellow 69 is a Triple Crown Award Winner - I take a few long stares at it each day

We also have a Goodwood Green 67 BB that we just had Top Flighted - has to be my favorite in the shop at the moment.

Thanks. Yes I did have a real, and tempting, offer at $265,000 that we turned down. Truth is with imminent inflation coming, I would rather have the car right now. History will likely repeat itself and these cars will adjust up with inflation.

Actually not so simple. BJ is no reserve. I do not sell at no reserve auctions, its not a matter of "apples" it is a policy of the banks. We use bank money on most cars we buy and sell. Mecum is hot and cold and frankly I have had better results selling word of mouth and not paying the premiums.

I guess it didn't sell. I wonder what the highest offer was.

This car is an original - one owner car. Fully documented and very rare.

When I say rare we can break it down like so; 188 LS6 Corvettes were ever produced from the factory with the 454/425hp alum. head big block. 130 ever came with the optioned M-22 Transmission w/ Heavy Duty Double-Disk Clutch. Additionally - this car is a Convertible(Black Vinyl Soft top) with Factory Hardtop, Mille Miglia Red w. Black Leather Interior and well optioned. Everything considered one would be hard pressed to find another LS6 Corvette on the same level as the one in question.

On to the restoration - We are one of the (if not, THE largest) Corvette restoration facilities in the world. We have restored some of the rarest Corvettes in the country. If you ever get a chance to see a car we have worked on in person - you would understand the prices that sometimes go along with these cars. At $96.50/hour (which like stated above is lower that most shops performing similar work) it is not difficult to surpass 150k in costs. Not to mention - when a car is valued at well over 300k, a 180k restoration is what some would call a 'good investment'. This car's restoration is fully documented and open to anyone to view on our website. Please feel free to check it out ; http://www.countycorvette.com/customers/Jpiotrowski.htm

Because of the rarity of the LS6 - there only a few examples of the prices these cars are selling for. With some research you will see that this car is right in line.

So before bashing the price of the car or it's restoration - please do some research.

Now on to some pictures...

Let me know if I can answer any questions...
Hi James
Just wondering how current the pic of the engine compartment is. You have a 68 smog pump on it. I may have a 71 if interested in trading. Will need the date stamp on the engine pad to determine the smog pump date you need. Other than that your car is very impressive.
Thanks, grant

It may seem like there are more than 116 69 L88s but to people who know these cars and have been involved in the hobby for many years can separate fact from fiction. Its a lot easier keeping tabs on a hundred cars vs. a model with that had a production run in the thousands. As far as 90% of people having owned them, the term rosed colored glasses comes to mind
