Default Finally got my first vette...

1981 c3 automatic. I have wanted a vette just about all of my life. I for some reason always end up with camaro's, firebirds, and mustangs. I am extremely excited and can't wait to start restoring it. So far my plan is a carbed LS1 swap, c5 brakes, and some serious suspension work. I am not sure on the suspension mods yet but I have been looking into the vette brakes & parts kits they have out with the tubular a arms and leaf spring fronts. I am sure I will be doing a lot of posting in here asking questions and looking for parts and advice. Anyways, I got some links posted up on my web site with pics. Here is the link. Let me know what you guys think!!!!

I know it's rough, but at least it's mine!!!!

Hey Congrats! I like that body style, and those wheels look killer when highly polished!

Welcome Corvette brother.... Rough, clean whatever like you said it's yours & few people can say they own a Vette. I've had mine almost 33 years now and I enjoy it more today than ever. This place should be a goldmine for you. Lots of smarts on the forum..........

I used to be in here on the c5 forums a lot, but I can't remember my old log in. I know how great of a resource this place is. So many smart folks. I am happy to finally be an owner as well as a part of the community.

Hey congrats on the new vette. I could not get the pics to load on this computer. I may have to get another look at them later. It is your vette and it sounds like you have a pretty sound plan and gonna have a blast with it. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

Congrats and welcome!

Nothing better than a vette...except one thing...ok maybe two things - but thats it!

Welcome to the forum, you are in for the highs (of owning a vette) and the lows (of owning an older car) but in the end there are a lot more highs then lows. Have fun and don't forget to wave.

I wish I didn't work a 15 hour over night shift at work, then go to the zoo with my son all day, then move my apartment after. If not I'd make some more post and do some more research. I really need to start the fuel system soon. I am not too worried about the stock motor. I plan to either go mid 12's, or blow it sky high with nitrous at the end of the season. What ever happens first is fine with me haha. I need to get my spare magnafuel pump in the car.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys. I appreciate it. Makes me really eager to get back on here and start posting more. I'll be back asap. I am just too tired to mess with anything now. Talk to all you guys soon.

OK guys it has been a while since i have been on. I guess thats the downside of not having a computer

Just like everyone else i am battling the economy and ran in some troubles getting the car back to its new home aka my garage. But alas it has made it's voyage and she is home and ready to get the work rolling around. Here are some pics of the car the day it got in. I just started cleaning it up, finding the problems and fixing a few of them. First step is make it drive to give me some motivation. Then the real project begins.... well here are the pics I took first day!!!!!

Not bad for $1000!!!!!
