Default Motor Build Website Question

I have a stock 76 L82 numbers matching that needs a motor rebuild. It has lifter noise and burns oil. It's a little embarasing blowing smoke down the road and I would also like a little more HP/torque, around 350. The last motor I rebuilt was a 1975 pinto back in 1981. I have a donor motor to rebuild and will put the origional on a stand. I know a lot of you will suggest dropping in a crate motor, but I would like to do this rebuild and enjoy the process. I have been lurking here for a year or so and have read and searched many posts. Thanks for the info! I have changed my mind many too times and I want finalize my list.

My questions are:
Is there a website/program where you can type in the heads, intake, cam ect and get estimates on horsepower and torque?

Is there a website that has complete list of matching components.

Don't kill me on this one. I don't want loud mufflers, but don't want to restrict the performance too much. Is this possible? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Give Summit Racing a call, they have real good tech people. I'm sure you can tell them what you want and they will hook you up. Hooker Super Competition Turbo Mufflers are quiet and claim to have "the lowest backpressure of all popular turbo mufflers".

Yep, Desktop Dyno. Of course it'll cost you $100, and how accurate can a program really be? http://www.proracingsim.com/purchasejac2.htm

Comp also has a free software, that you can probably assume is even more inaccurate, and as far as plugging in specific components (i.e. Dart Iron Eagle, 64cc, 180cc runners, etc), well it is very generic. But again, its free: http://www.compcams.com/camquest/default.asp

Overall, getting 350 HP out of your motor should be no problem. What was included in your "donor" motor?

The donor motor is still in the truck sitting behind his shop. I can have anything and the rest is going to the salvage yard. It's a 1978.
