The original carb for a 1968 427/390 is not a Holley,its a Rochester
Quadra-Jet. The carb # on mine is 7029201 ED. Some info shows its for a 68,others show 69.

4spd 427/390 vette came with Qjet # 7028209 in 1968 (that 4th digit "8" stands for model year)

automatic trans came with Qjet # 7028216 Those are the numbers in the Blackbook; I think they are correct. Odd number for manual trans, even number for automatic trans. Those carb #s only came on corvettes, so they are very rare and expensive items today.

yes you are correct on the numbers and they are very hard to find. It took me over 2 years to find the carb.
