Default 78 starting trouble
I bought a 78 corvette its a 4speed car but owner changed to auto car started when i bought it transmission was bad so i replaced the it with another auto trans reconnected everything now the car will not start if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated THANKS TOM

Welcome to the forum, Tom

We might need a bit more info ?????

Does it crank over, or do you have a totally dead car ??

With the info given, your problem could be no gas, to a daed battery or 1 million things in between. Give us some details and we'll get you running !!

does not turn over. No click from starter.No power to the coil,no dash lights,radio,wipers,the only thing that comes on are the headlights. I can jump the starter and the motor will crank but wont start because of no power to coil.The only thing i disconnected on trans replacement was removing starter

Did you get all wires put pack the exact way they came off? Sounds like the problem is very near the starter.

Yes,one purple iside post on solenoid,main batt cable and two red wires center post on starter.the black ground is grounded to the engine intake.this problem has been driving me crazy for four days

It may have a switch on the shifter so it will only start in neutral/Park and need to be adjusted, or the PO jumpered the clutch switch and it came apart.

thanks,i already have check all that. Mine has the switch for the clutch and it is jumpered.i just dont understand why i dont have power for the dash light,radio and going out to the coil in the distributor

Thanks everyone for your help.i found one starter wire pulled half way out of the connector at the firewall.the vette is running great! Thanks tom
