1978 frame problems

hi im new on here but i bought the car about a year ago and was not aware that the frame was spot welded together in some places i was wondering should i just buy a new frame (if so what is a good site) or is there any other suggestions?

What do you mean "exactly" by spot welds?In certain places where they should be ? Or do you mean "stitch" welds (where a weld stops and starts).
Can you show us a pic ?

no pics sorry but its all in the front end in about 11 places where there shouldn't be welds theres also a piece of sheet metal that looks like they tried to make it a cross member? the only conclusion i have come up with as to why its this way is it had previously been totaled and the frame bent

You need pictures. There is spot welding on the belly pan on the first x member.
Without pictures, we have no clue about what you are trying to say so we can't help you a lot.
