side pipes
I am a new owner of a '79 small block vette and am interested in putting a nice set of side pipes on my car. Any suggestions?

Go with Stainless or Jet-Hot coated. Otherwise you'll be replacing them when they rust thru. And they WILL rust thru eventually

Just make sure you don't need to keep the cats for inspection. Some counties need them for the visual inspection.

So how do you like the "cobra-style" shields? I like the look, though they are a little shorter than Dean's, but much less expensive. Wondering how hard it is to keep them looking good, with all the holes??
Thanks!

The shields work very well. No more leg burns on the wife. I don't drive the car in bad weather so I never really had to clean them. All I do is hit them with car polish once and a while.

Do a search on side pipes. The topic comes up almost daily.
