I think some of those splices are the in line fused links and you do not want to be with out some kind of overload protection.
Looking at your top drawing, counting the the slice points l-r as 1-4, the segment between point one and point two would be a fusible link. The segment off splice 3 feeding the fusebox is another fusible link.
I just rewired all this on mine but keeping stock alternator for now so keep factory config.
