1982 tps reset
on my 82 the past couple of days at idle in gear [600-700rpm] my car stopped running.i thought maybe bad gas [still running out the storage full tank]today bought some fresh gas .a few miles later the check engine light came on.ran the code it said the tps switch was giving a high reading .reset tps .on the test drive i also checked the posi rear end ,the black marks said all is good .by the way 19mpg on last tank of gas .

Do you have a meter? You need to connect to wires A and B. Thats the two lower ones. Turn the ignition to "on" and take a reading. If its off loosen the screws that hold the TPS. By moving it up and down you can adjust the values. Its real sensitive. You will find the reading changes as you tighten it up again. You need to adjust to .525 with a maximum variance of .007.
Just a tip. Instead of making a jumper you can tape a paper clip to each meter wire and insert them into the connector.
