I bought a 1980 a few years back and by the time I got it up to go to the frame shop, I was told that it wasn't bent, but twisted. Take the body off the frame, bring it back, an they would twist it back straight, cut the repairs that were made out so it would sit straight on the new twisted frame. I would tell you the Ins. Co who had her repaired, but I'm old and Cranky so I had better not. Have you ever seen a grown man cry???
Once someone realizes the front AND rear clips are replaced, they will expect a substantial discount or better yet, walk away.
Do not pay close to full price.
PS: Are you Corvette-experienced? Do you believe that someone who is very used to looking at these cars would agree with you that you "can't tell" when looking closely?
I've heard these descriptions before, went to look at the car and the nose was the wrong year. Be sure.
So is it a '75 with a '74 rear bumper? or a '74 with a '75 nose?
for that kind of money.. be really careful
It's a 74, taillights are for the 74, you'd be unstable in the head to replace a 75's with a 74's... then again they did replace the front with a 75 bumper.. Ok.. it has a 75 front emblem? But no gas tank badge by the one pic I can see... !??! Cad converter would put this to rest since 74's don't have them but that is a really bastardized car..
Might be low mileage because it was not driveable for a while or is not good driver today. That price is WAY TOO HIGH IMHO............... I would look elsewhere for a much nicer car with nothing left to doubt for that kind of cash!
I;m not sure whats right on this car or not, and this car may or may not be worth anything, but what I find craze here is the thoughts that a car that has new Glass on it somewhere is not worth any where what one is with old Glass! If the job is done right it probaly is worth more with new glass on it!! Are you all saying that a car repaired by someone like our supporting vendor Stan does a car to be worth less than a stock piece?
