I used razor blades then hand sanded with 120 to get to this point. When I got tired of shaving paint, I would sand for a while. I have to remove almost all the primer because it has pits in it all over the car down to the fiberglass for some reason. Anyway, anyone know the best way to remove the lower front fender? Thanks.
And yea, I know the shop is a mess. I'll get it cleaned out the weekend.
fenders are bonded /glued on, not an easy task, why do you want to remove it?
To do properly you have to split the fiberglass seams.
You will find it much easier to repair what you have inplace of removing the fender.
you have a great start, go ahead and start stripping emblems,
key locks, handles, bumpers and all that stuff,
so you can sand and prep properly. you are block sanding right ?
also there is paint and body section on the main fourm page, incase you didn't know.

and make sure you get some sealer or some really good primer so the paint won't raise on the fiberglass.
Ecklers sells a couple videos that are pretty good. One of the videos actually shows the removal of a panel and explains how to save the bonding strip etc.
I believe I must replace it, it is missing about 4" where the lower valance attaches. Yes I am block sanding and all the emlems, rear lights ect. are off, the pictures were taken last week. Thanks for the info on the paint and body section.
