Hey guys, I hang out in the C-2 section most of the time, wife has been looking for a nice C-3 for a driver, we found a very nice 79 that we both want and would have bought it today BUT the owner stored the car last winter and spread Mothballs through out the car, we love the car but can't take the stink...anyway to remove the mothball smell? if not we will keep looking(it's that bad)...Thanks

Take the Ttops out and set her out in the sun? Fabreeze? Soak a rag in lacquer thinner and throw it under the seats?
I wouldn't let this stop me from buying the car. The smell will go away in time. Ask the owner to leave the T-tops off for a week and go back and see if it is better after that.
Moth ***** are great for keeping mice and other pests away from the car while in storage. I throw a handfull of them on the floor under the car over the winter. I haven't had mice get into it yet.
Just an FYI, they work good for chasing off skunks too. We had one under our barn last summer. I dumped about 1/2 the box into the area where the skunk had made a home. He was gone the next day.
The mothball smell will go away, but I'd be curious what smell the seller is trying to cover up??? Check under the carpet on the passenger side for mold, could be a leak. Perhaps he just has mice problems during the winter, mothballs do work great for that.

as a kid my mother always packed away the winter clothes in mothballs and then just unpacked them and put them outside in the air for a bit. that and some fabreeze should be a simple solution also.
First remove all mothballs then open windows and remove T- tops. sprinkle carpet fresh on carpet front & back do this a few times. Wash all leather/plastic surface's with a mild car wash solution then armorall the crap out of it. Last but not least ,,,, cut a bar of irishspring soap in half and place under seats .
