Default 76 oil recommendations
have a low mileage 76, L48, owned since new. Looking for recommendations on motor oil. comments appreciated. cvttejim

any good oil is fine, some use shell rotella T, because they think it has more zddp, it does, but it is debatable if that real reason for cam failure is the zinc, or improper cam break in.

I use Mobil 1 in everything. lots of miles on Model A fords, C2+C3 corvette, and a pre war Packard, and no problems with Mobil 1

I like Valvoline at the moment, running synthetic in the 'Vette and dyno in everything else. Use good oil and change it regularly and you will be fine.
