Default Bumper clipped by dumb biker

Ok, no big deal here just thought I'd share my mistake. I came blasting down my driveway on my Harley and my left bag clipped my vette's left rear bumper. Did it scuff? Of course not, it ripped the entire frigging corner off. I'm so pissed off at myself. Crap. I gotta slow down. Bikes ok.

Don't know if one mistake means he doesnt know how to handle the bike but I do agree with the fix the bumper part At least you didn't go down and now have a chance to upgrade to a fiberglass bumper.

Maybe if you painted the car a brighter color, you would be able to see it better while riding your bike.

Sorry for your misfortune It really sucks to have a broken car.

Damn! You park your Vette outside?just kidding.. I'll bet you wont do that again! Next time park the Harley in the drive and run it over with the Vette, that will teach that bad Biker in you!

Don't feel too bad. I have come very close myself. Jumping from my Wide Glide to the Bagger and forgetting there is some extra fiberglass hanging off each side especially when going between two cars sitting in the driveway. BTW, you wouldn't happen to have a video of that would you? Kidding! Take care and good luck with the repair.

Thanks all. Yeah, in hind sight I should have just parked the bike in the street and walked up (Lesson learned). Fortunately I didn't go down and the only loss was my bumper. I am a formally trained rider with years of experience but this just goes to show we all make mistakes. I'm still beating myself up over this. Feel free to dog pile on me, I deserve it.

Anyways, I just ordered a fiberglass bumper from MidAmerica ($447 shipped)and it should be here this week. Can't wait to get it back on the road. The weather here in Michigan is finally real nice. Be safe and have a great holiday.

Good judgment is a result of experience; experience is a result of poor judgment. Sorry for your luck. I have had a few I would like to get a do-over for. Usually it starts with "maybe I should _____ first- nah! It'll be ok.."
