Default 79 steering column

Does anyone have the complete breakdown of a 79 corvette steering column? I don't need the breakdown of the wheel, but the inside of the column itself.

You didn't mention which type of steering column. By 1979 most Corvettes came equipped with the T&T column. So let's assume you are asking for a T&T blowup. The bad news is that I have not been able to find a good blowup of exactly the 1978-1982 Corvette T&T column. Maybe we can piece together an earlier blowup drawing with a generic one for the 1978-82 T&T column.

You will need to download the following two blowups and piece them together.

First of all, a Saginaw T&T steering column is nothing but a glorified Saginaw tilt column. So we should be able to piece together a generic 1978-82 tilt steering column blowup and combine it with the correct parts from an earlier 1969-76 T&T Corvette column.

1969-76 Corvette T&T Blowup

This blowup is correct except for a couple areas.
Here are a few corrections. Cross them out on the drawing.
Parts #1, #2, #3, & #4 are not correct. Please refer to the next blowup drawing for the correct parts.
Part #55 is the Upper Steering Shaft. It should also have several more telescoping parts they are shown on the next blowup.
Part #80 Dash Bracket Assembly is not loose as shown. It is spot welded to the lower end of the Jacket #69. Also shown correctly on the next blowup.
The Corvette Jacket #69 should have a welded-on mounting bracket (where two vertical bolts hold the column up into the dash). Correct on the next blowup.

This blowup of a 1969-76 Corvette T&T column should be used only for the above areas.

Circle these parts. They should replace the crossed-out parts above.
Parts #1, 2, 4, 5, 6, & 7 on this drawing are correct.
Parts #40, 41, 42, & 43 are correct.
Jacket #63 does show the welded lower bracket as well as the welded upper bracket.

Sorry but Chevrolet and Saginaw didn't seem to generate the correct T&T blowup for the 1977 through 1982 Corvette column.
