Default Thanks to gtr1999!

Thanks gtr1999! This last Friday I had the opportunity to replace the rear end seal on my 1978 Pace. I had never attempted this work beofre but with the help of your instructions and the GM shop manual I pulled it off, perfectly, on car. There were three of us putting our heads together and with the help of a friends lift completed the project in 4 hrs, even with making a run to buy and 1 1/8" socket to remove the spline nut. While we had some trouble getting the spline nut off, we finally acheived success by having one guy climb up top and hold the brake down good and hard. Then with a 1/2" breaker bar and a length of black pipe over it we finally were able to crack the nut! I used all of your tips and pics and as of today have not dripped one drop of rear end fluid! By using your instructions and studying them prior to beginning the work we had nothing but success! Thanks again, bud!

Glad it helped you out. No issue over crushing the sleeve? Did you use a CR seal and #2?
Enjoy the car.
