Default 77 gauge bezel

I am looking to replace the center gauge bezel on my '77. The '77 seems to be different than '78 and later years. What is the difference? Thanks, mds...

The 77 center gauge bezel has "wings" to mate to the 68-77 dash. 78 dash was changed. Removing the "wings" makes it like 78-.

I changed to an 80s panel so the gauge openings would be same w/ 80s oil temp. gauge in place of clock. Looks factory.

See the little wing at the bottom edge. This was a filler to make up for different pad as mentioned above. The wings kind of just filled the void.

The dash bezel on the 78-82 cars did not have the wings but. . . . On cars with a clock from 1978-1982 the bezel was exactly the same except for those two wings and at one point years ago GM had the 78-82 bezel on back order but still has stock on the 77 bezel. We would order the 77 bezel and remove the wings.

Now GM . . . Well I guess we'll wait until tomorrow to see what about GM.
