Lets qualify this statement right here and now, neither of these L-88's would be what they are without the help of Dave Herlinger at Corvette Repair in Mtn View, CA who did chassis and drivetrain restorations on the "race" AIR L-88 his brother Jim owned and helped Radke with his car by giving him rare and unobtainable parts for his restoration. Chris Springer like Kevin McKay is a great bodyman but for drivetrain and mechanical restoration Dave is one of the best! Dave NEVER gets the credit he is due on these cars and I hope one day he has the time and money to finish the restoration on the #1 Garner/Guldstrand L-88 AIR race car that he owns that is documented as THE FIRST 1968 L-88 built in St Louis where the real Corvettes were built! It was not my intention to credit or not credit those involved with the restoration of this or any of the A.I.R. cars for that matter. Since these cars spark a lot of interest on the forum I was only offering a link to some more pictures. Sorry if you or anyone else was offended. That was certainly not my intention. I have since edited the post to reflect that.

As I looked at the pics and read about the car I was all but certain it was the L-88 that Dave's brother had owned. Dave's work is highly respected by anybody who knows him. The word meticulous comes to mind and his knowledge about parts is nothing short of amazing.
