Default Rusted seat pans

my mechanic informed me my seat pant are a little rusty and should be replaced...i found them on ecklers but are they seriously worth 250 a peice? anyone found some anywhere else?

But have you had a look at it yourself? Are they rusting from outside or inside? It's common for the pans to get rusty from the inside simply because that's where people put their wet feet over the years and also if there are any leaks in the windscreen the draining water might end up there. It now depends how bad they are - is it just surface rust or has the metal been already weakened. You should get a flat head screwdriver and hit the pans from the rusted areas. If it goes through, you should fix or replace them. I had the pans surface rusted and I cleaned + POR15'd them to avoid rust in the future.
