Default Zip or not to Zip?

I will be purchasing a vacuum hose kit for my 78. Zip seems like the best value, the most parts for the $$. I checked Dr Rebuild and he is bad mouthing Zip, they have a link to a forum post from 2002. Has Zip improved in the last 7 years? I have to believe they most have otherwise how could they stay in business?

Thanks Bill

I'm in the UK so can't afford to order parts
and have to send them back because they are faulty or wrong ones sent,
use ZIP all the time,
never ever had a problem with them.

Buy the hose kit from Dr.Rebuild. The set from zip doesn't fit properly.

I have bought from ZIP for the last 15 years and I never had a problem. Best vendor out there. Better parts and really quick shipping. If you deal with any other, your looking for trouble.

the reason he is bad mouthing zip is they copied his product, and even copied it when he put errors in it..went to court and Zip lost...so if you want a bad copy get them from Zip.

read this thread, and see who you want to buy from

I purchased from Dr. Rebuild. All the lines were correct in size and length. The quality is excellent also.

If you want NCRS correct, go with Dr Rebuild.
If you want kind of close, may or may not fit, go with Zip.

I buy from both but more from ZIP, their internet ordering is easy to use. Doc Rebuild has some parts that no one else seems to have plus their catalog is the best in the business.

I purchased a set from Ecklers and they were actually the Zip product. Work great on my 68 with air.

Dr. Rebuild. Bought it, installed it, correct fit, conforms to NCRS and good instructions.

I installed the Zip hose set on my '70. It was great. Color coding and sizes were all correct and worked perfectly. I have ordered from Zip a lot. Any problems I've had they remedied quickly and with no fuss. Great company!

Brought a kit from ZIP and got a bag of hose nothing else. Brought from Dr. Rebuild and got hose and a diagram with a sheet showing where they go and the the different lengths of same color hose and a bag of clamps. Was a much better deal--at least for me. Don't particularly like the old history bad mouth about some other company but what I got was better as to product. Might buy something else from Zip but my "homework" on it will be much more detailed.

My 2 cents--

I have found found that for all of the soft parts ( gaskets, hoses, seals ) that Dr. Rebuild sells seems to have the best quality and his parts fit like they should because he makes them himself. For all of the other things that are sold from big distributors to all of the Corvette supply houses like Ecklers Corvette Central or Zip. You pretty much get the same part with a little bit different level of services.
