Default Vin decoding help?!

Hello ya'all. Per vin # below taken off of a craigslist add. Add says is an L82....but if i'm decoding correctly the 2nd 8 signifies this is a L48? Correct? and thanks so much! You guys rock and roll!!!!!!! This is the craigslist link.....

L-48. If the fifth number was a 4 it would be an L-82.........

thx boys! i assume there is no way a rebuild could make a 48 an 82, correct? thx again!!!

One difference between the two is the 4-bolt main that comes with the L-82..

But if this Vette really has 500 H.P., why mess with it..........
