I was wondering if anybody could help me with my problem. I just aquired a '77 Vette and when I pull the light toggle all the way out only the bights come on and the "bight" signal light shows up on the dash. I was wondering if anybody knows what I can do to fix the problem or what the issue is exactly. Thanks
i just fixed this problem on my '77... it was a worn out dimmer switch. you may also want to look up how to add some 30 amp relays to the circuit which will significantly increase the brightness of your head lights and take a lot of the strain off of your old wiring harness. do a search for headlight relays.
Could it be he has the high beams on? Try pulling the directional/turn signal arm back towards you... That should toggle you back to low beams if that's the problem. I say this because you mentioned that the "bright" signal appears on the dash, which indicates the high beams are on...

Hey bro, I didn't realize it was you... i'm on leave until TBS, I hope the summer is treating you well.
I think your headlight switch is working properly because your headlights are coming on. However, like SaintShark said, your brights are turned on. I'm not sure if you know this but your dimmer lever is on the steering column and shares the turn signal lever. Pull it towards you to turn your brights on and off. What happens? We can diagnose the problem once we know the symptoms.
