Default Insurance?

I am looking to purchase a 1974 corvette for weekend pleasure driving. What are the best options out there for insurance to cover classic cars and what can I expect to pay for insurance?

You have many options, some ins co's have riders for that.Get an issue of Hemmings Motor, they'll have a ton of ads for collector car ins. I've been using American Collecters in Cherry Hill n.j. for about 20 yrs and have been very satisfied.Depending on value you insure for it'll probably be about $150 to $200 a year.

The Corvette Museum is sponsoring a Company providing Vette Ins. In process of switching my 2000 the Co. called Atlas.
Have my 70 with Grundy. Both are around $300 per yr.

Thanks for the info. This will be my first classic and I am just starting to get my feet wet. I appreciate te advice. Does coverage cover things like trailering and storage? I'm sure that I'd have to make sure that was covered if I ever decided to trailor or store the vehicle.

most collector car insurance is based on an agreed value. And some companies like to see a photo of your car inside the locked garage where it will live. I have American Collectors as well, with an additional towing plan...it covers something a 200 mile tow, and will cover room and board, and even the event fee for the event you missed because the car broke down. Shop around, be honest about annual mileage...its not very expensive to insure our cars.
