Starter Question
I can't get the starter to turn over on the '75. I believe that the starter itself may be bad but before I go to all the trouble of swapping it out here is what happens. I made sure I had a good charge on the battery and then left the charger on in the "start" position and when I turn the key it gives the initial attempt to start and then it sounds like it has a dead battery. All the lights, radio, wiper, etc work. It seems like there just isn't enough power to turn the motor over. Any comments or suggestions?

Make sure you have a battery that has good starting & storage amps. On my '75 I had the same problem - my experienced mechanic suggested a cure - use a hammer and wack the starter - worked great until I got a new starter. The purpose of the hammer is to "move" the brushes in the starter closer together so that it works.
