Default 82 Frame differences from 73

From what I understand, most C3 frames are the same, I think a little extra bracing was added along the way. My question has to do with mounting chrome rear bumpers - Will there be any problem if I use an 82 frame on a 73? PS: It won't be using the crossfire, I'm dropping in a big block.

The '82 has a different rear suspenson then the early cars, the carrier support crossmember changed, so you could be looking at doing some surgery to get the 73's suspension in. Also the 73 was the first year for the rubber front end and it used a different deflection system from following cars. The 73 used a shear bolt system and 74 and later used a hydraulic piston system.

Thanks, guys! I guess that $650.00 powder coated frame on craigslist (http://knoxville.craigslist.org/pts/1188314873.html) will have to find another home and I'll get to work on my old one!
