'69 Trim Tag Decoding

Haven't found an answer online yet: on the trim tag (1969), besides the exterior paint and the interior trim codes, what does the "M16" mean?

I think it's the month & date it was built. That would be October according to the Black Book, if September 68 starts with "A". 69's were built for 15 months due to the strike. VIN range from Sept to End Oct is 730963-734067.
Hope this helps, and other's will chime in if I'm incorrect.

That's the month and day the trim tag was stamped and attached to the yet uncompleted car. In '69 M was August 1969, so yours is Aug 16th 1969. The car was finished day or two later typically.
