Default battery indicator light

the battery indicator light is always on, I replacerd the battery and the alternator, both new, and that didnt solve the problem. What should I try next?

Pull the 2 wire plug out of the alt. and see if the light goes out.

Thanks for your responce. I tried that and it did not work. However the choke light went out, which is another problem entirely, but the tach stopped working too. Could you tell me what that plug operates? How about another suggestion, where to now! Thanks

The brown wire in that plug will turn on the Gen light if the alternator is not working correctly.

I had a similar problem back in the late eighties. It turned out that the charge wire that runs under the car from the alternator then up to the battery was broken at the lug next to the battery. Look for the stud in the battery compartment ....you'll see the charge wire attached to it and a second wire that feeds the battery. Wiggle the wires to see if the connection is good.
