Default Removing Sidepipes?

Has anyone separated their Hooker sidepipes at the collector? I'm going to the dragstrip this weekend for the 4th, and I wanted to try and pull them apart and run open headers. It probably won't run any faster, but louder is always better, right? I'm just worried that they might be seized together or something. I didn't put any anti-seize on them when I put them on.

Spray the joint with LOTS of a good penatrating oil and let sit, then repeat after a day or so. Loosen the clamp, remove the mounting bolts that hold them to the frame and use a 2x4 and BFH and pound on the mounting bracket with the 2x4. Wiggle the tube as you pound. You may need to repeat this a couple times. As you know, you need to use anti-seize when reassembling. Everone needs to run w/o a muffler in the side pipes just once in their life. Wear earplugs. Note, it is easier to remove the rocker moulding if you remove the rear wheel and slide it out the back. Tape up the bottom of the doors so you don't scratch the paint. I'm sure you'll knock at least a second off your 1/4 mile time w/o the mufflers (at least it will sound that way).
