Can't get new control valve to operate properly? Bled power steering, balanced control valve, steering still screechs and locks to one side???

Check to be sure the 2 hoses are install correctly on the control valve. If they are, and you tried to balance the valve then your new CV is bad. Been there done that.

I'll try testing the hoses in the alternate configuration, thanks for the suggestion.

The hoses from the cylinder to the valve must cross each other.

I just spent 6 hours trying to figure this out.... My mechanic kept saying the power valve to slave cylender hoses were right... .but they weren't crossing. I'm going to kill him.
it would just not center, fight itself from 10 to 2 to 10 to 2 to 10 to 2..

Gary,
Along with the other things suggested, how did you balance the valve?
Did you do this with the cylinder off the frame bracket? If not this is the best way.

Thanks Willcox, I did use your website info for control valve balancing. This is the second valve I've tried (rebuilt)??? I'll keep trying.

Are you sure there is not some kind of restriction in the system, is the power steering pump working properly, is there plenty of grease in the gear box? Just suggestions to try since you have installed two valves.
