California Here I Come!!!!!
G'day,
With all due respect to Irving Berlin, I'm coming to California six weeks today ( Sunday July 5 ) with my gf Rose and friends David and Gary. We want to meet as many Corvette owners as we can in the two weeks from August 16 till we depart September 17.
We're staying at the Howard Johnson Anaheim until Aug 22, then one night up near Hearst Castle, and four nights in Oakland, where we are planning on catching up with Muddywaters and crew.
We spend August 27 and 28 at Holiday Inn in San Jose and on the morning of Aug 29, head off to Bowling Green with Steve Cleveland and the Northern California Caravan.
My friend Gary has an '87 with a 4+3 and would like to talk to any other owners who have this transmission, as info on these is thin on the ground in Australia.
David has a Silver Anniversary model that came from the Dale Earnhardt museum and I have a '74 L82 coupe. We want to see the sights of LA and San Fran during the day and talk Corvettes in the evening with some locals if possible.
Gary, David and I were at the 2003 Caravan and had such a fun time that we'd like to do it all again, but with a bit more planning this time.

Yes, we're hooking up with the Northern California Caravan under Steve Cleveland and will be departing San Jose on Saturday Aug 29 with a hundred or more Corvettes. We'll pick up more as we traverse the USA and arrive in BG on Sept 4 with who knows how many cars.
We're travelling in a Dodge Caravan as there's four of us and we found this to be an ideal vehicle for the journey.

We arrive in LA on Aug 16 and will miss the Pebble Beach show, but will try to fit in the others if time permits. Thank you for the heads up.

Sounds like your itenery might be off a little. The NCRS National Corvette meet is in San Jose at the McEnry Covention Center July 12 thru 16, and Corvettes @ Carlisle is August 28 thru 30th in Pennsylvania. Both would be worth going to.
