Finally after months of waiting I finally received my new custom wheels. They are 18 X 8 fronts and 18 X 10 rears with Nitto 555's 245/40 front and 285/40 rear. Lowered the front and rear 1" but still would like another 3/4" to 1" more in front and possibly another 1/2" or so in the rear.
Here are a few pics. It got dark before I could get out and get some shots due to the monsoons we have had here in BG the past few days. They are not very good pics due to the lighting but want to post none the less.
I will post some more pics when I get more taken... in the daylight this time.
It is a totally different car with modern tire technology. All I can say is WOW what a difference. I was expecting a much harsher ride but not so. I would say it a more "crisp" ride over bumps but not as harsh as the stock 15's and is night and day in the smoothness of the ride quality. In the traction department there is no comparison. Night and day difference.
nice, Glad to see something other than TTII. Looks good.
Thank you!!!
I truely hope everyone doesn' take this wrong but it seems as if everyon is running TTII wheels and they have become just another cookie cutter wheel. I like the TTII's but wanted something different, something that where ever I go I'll have the only set or at the very least one of the few sets in the country. I searched long and hard for wheels and just couldn't find anything I truely liked with the sizing I required that was different from the norm.
Good looking, what brand wheel are they and the cost ?
Hi Bill,
We communicated several times regarding the Boss wheels and I was in Chicago working and went by Styeve's place and looked at the 338's and after attempting to pick one up I decided that I couldn't go that route. Entirely too heavy for what I wanted. I spent many years as a engineer in the custom wheel industry many moons ago and still have a few contacts in that industry. I really wanted a billet wheel anyway and i contacted an old friend still in the business and he told me that if I would do all of the design work and set up all of the diminsions required he would build them for me. So as for a brand... I guess they are HBZ's. As far as the cost... I could have had 4 sets of cast wheels. But I feel that it was well worth it... to me anyway.
As promised I have shot some more pics. I stopped by the Corvette Museum this afternoon on the way home from work and shot some new pics in the daylight. It is simply amaxing what a little light will do for taking pictures.
You know they look almost just like a fiske wheel i seen on another members vette. And yes the boss wheels are kinda heavy compared to a billet wheel, boss wheels are cast aluminum.

Love the look. Whats the backspacing on the rears and did you have to relocate the E-brake cable and/or ditch the rear sway?
I did relocate the E-Brake bracket before I received the wheels, but it would have been no problem in the OEM position. With the bracket in the OEM position I believe it woild have been necessary to either shorten the cables (to take some of the protruding loop outside the trailing arm ot to tie it out of the way to prevent rubbing the tire.
As for the sway bar I can not say as my car does not have that option.
