Default TruFlex front bumper install

Do you have to take out the complete plastic honeycomb to make the bumper fit. What do you do with the steel bumper piece behind the licence plate holder? Any Help

Thanks

What year? For my 82, the bumper should fit over the honeycomb impact cushion. The steel plate on bumper extesion stays on, in fact it is all one piece and can't be removed separately.

When I did one of my 75's last year, I left the honeycomb on, but it was VERY tight. One of the honeycombs' original purposes was to help keep the shape of the urethane bumper, but the new fiberglass ones can support themselves.

Thanks All- It is a 75 , I am thinking of bolting on the steel licence plate holder with spacers to protect the front. Also I have just rebuilt one of the kids honda's, it just had polystrene piece behind the bumper cover, So i was thinking of just adding two pieces behind the bumper.

Thanks again,
