Engine build
I purchased a 383 short block 4 months ago from a E-bay merchant.What is an average time to get a short block? Every time I call about the engine progress they say they're just finishing it up and will ship it in 2 or 3 days. So far this company has spent 4 weeks "finishing" my engine.

May not be the news you want to hear but over the years, many forum members have be ripped off purchasing engines & short blocks from ebay. Sallie, Scoggins & Pace are better sources.

4 months is insanely long, they could have cast the block from scratch in that amount of time.

If you used a credit card to pay pay-pal, reverse that. You can also call the local attorneys general's office, they should have a contact ph/n on the state web site. That's where i would start, with the attorney generals office. fraud.
