I just got my first c3, now I get to start with all of the projects... First inspection is key, my horn works but will sometimes go off when I turn second my brake and blinkers work on the rear but no tail lights, already checked the bulbs and fuses whats next? thanks by the way it is a 1977 auto with t tops
Sounds like the horn contacts may be shorting out. I had to rebuild my horn with a kit from Corvette Central.
As for the lights, I had a similiar problem with my front signals and parking lights. After checking fuses and bulbs, the problem ended up being the Black connectors in the wiring harness where it pulls apart. I disconnected and lubricated the connectors.
No more light problems.
...my horn works but will sometimes go off when I turn...
Horn contact is grounding when the wheel is turned. Pull the cap and contact and check the little plastic insulator. Careful: there's a spring in there.
...no tail lights, already checked the bulbs and fuses whats next?...
Make sure the rear wiring harness has a good ground on the frame. Wouldn't hurt to clean the area where it bolts to the rear X-member.
still very very new to all of the c3 stuff just sold my c4 any pictures for the lights? I got the plastic insulator back in on the horn and havent heard it do the same thing again this morning thanks guys!
