If you're going to work on your vette yourself, purchase the assembly manual and the shop manual. If you're looking for information on build dates, number made etc, a lot of the vendors have books that will give you this information. The best investment I made was purchasing the shop manual and the forum is a great resource. You will find the manuals leave some things out and the only way to figure stuff out is to ask here.

Thanks Bill

The Corvette Black Book will help. So will the NCRS Judging Manual for the 82s. You can also contact the National Corvette Museum at Bowling Green (across the road from where your car was assembled) and see if they have a copy of the build sheet for your car. https://store.corvettemuseum.com/ser...buildsheet.asp

Cruise and enjoy. Remember: C3 drivers WAVE!!

Welcome to the world of C3. I hope you really enjoy the 82. The last of the C3’s and the first year for the return of fuel injection,

Your engine is an L83, crossfire fuel injection (CFI) if its stock, they all were. Your transmission is the first year of the 700r4 automatic with the built in overdrive, there were no manuals in 82, stock.

There’s a stamped trim code panel in the drivers door jam with the original paint and interior codes on it.

Got any Pics to share?

I copied this it might not come through clear.

http://www.motorera.com/corvette/1980/vet82.htm

Go on the Corvette Museum website, provide them with the VIN and order the window sticker and build sheet.

It will list all of your options and the sticker price of your 82.
