Default '75 Speedo cable

My speedometer cable broke. I doubt if I'll be able to get the whole thing out via the trans connection 'cause that's the kind of luck I have. It has been many years since I had the dash apart and I've read the Haynes manual on getting to the connection behind the speedometer. If I removed the dash pad can I get to the connection. It looks feasible.

You can reach it from under the dash. Remove the a/c duct and you can reach it. It is a pain in the butt to hold the clip down and pull the speedo cable out. It helps if you have someone pull on the cable from the engine compartment while you hold the clip down.

Reinstall is easier.

No cruise. I was wondering with that duct out of the way how much access I'd have. Thanks.

you might get lucky it might just be the bottom line theres two on mine one from the tranny about a foot or so there is another on that goes up to the speed -o I would check the one going to the tranny first then put a drill on the top one see if it turns the speedo- (its A connector that I use to pump grease into the cable from your car should havi.

Find out which part of the cable broke before you start pulling the dash apart.
