Default A/c blower motor question

I need some trouble shooting help. The blower motor does not run on my 79'. It was not working when I bought the car. My question is how do you tell if its the switch, the blower motor or the resistor located on the heater box. The car had the connector unpluged from the resistor on the heater box when I bought it.

Check for voltage at wire plug to motor. On high with A/C or heat on. If you have voltage and motor does not run, check for continuity through motor connectors. Brushes in motor can wear out. If no voltage problem is not motor. Does motor spin freely or is it locked up? Other members will give advice if this does not get you results. mds...

My blower didn't work for a couple of years.... until I realised I'd put the earth wire back wrong when I refitted the starter motor.

Could also be the relay on top of the evaporator box. I would plug it back in and see what happens, if it is unplugged it may just be a bad motor.
