Default A/c help!!!!!!!!!

I am trying to put ac back in a vette that originally had it. most all of the components were removed. my big question is does someone make a more powerful blower motor??? i know that the rate that my friends 82 blows on high is nowhere near what im looking for on a hot and humid louisiana summer day. thanx

First thing you need do is pop out the old blower motor, and trace the outline of the mounting flange on some 3/4 plywood, or similar material...then you cut a hole in center to agree with a C4 motor/blower assy.....Auto Zone is one source for both as a assy....get a power plug while there....

the ground side of the stock blower is a black wire....it needs upgrading to 8-10 ga wire, and securely mounted to engine block the + feed has to be proven to supply full voltage to the motor with only less than a volt from full alt output being allowed....

the evap housing MUST be cleaned out, it's a bitch of a job....I just did it this morning for the second time in some 15 years now....i'ts a PIA type thing, and you should consider making the lower blower side of the housing easily removeable on the first attempt.....

I blocked the old fresh air intake from the wiper well, as I removed the inner flapper door, making the car a permanent recirculating system.....MY '72 is a convertible...enough with the air circulation already....YMMV....

so now you will have full airflow at higher output, and a much better/colder car....

thanx man, thats what i was thinking, its nice to hear that its worked out for someone before i start trying. i bought all new components so i will have to clean the evap box anyway before i install the new one. im most positive it hasnt been opened in 30 yrs, so that should be real fun . thanx again.

Could you send me pics of how you removed the door and made it permanently recirc? I've been looking how to do this for some time now. I want to permanently fix the doors so the heater is closed and blowing through the upper vents all the time, and in recirc mode.

Thanks!!!

You want a C4 fan. It's larger and has a more efficient pitch to the blades than the C3 fan. It moves more air.
