Looking through my Assembly Manual for my 1980 I have noticed that all torque specifications are in N/m rather than Ft/lbs. what’s more the range is quit wide
Here is an example
Body mount bolts should be 45 Ft/lbs this is 61N/m my AM says 55-70Nm.
When did Chevrolet switched from Ft/lbs to N/m and how do I pick the correct Torque? Do I just pick 63Nm as this is between 55 and 70?

I believe that GM went Metric in 1977.
That was when all the "Blue" fasteners started to show up in their cars.
The blue color fasteners denoted a metric part.
