I am transporting my 71 BB from New Jersey to Jacksonville Fl. Does anyone know a auto transporter that is reliable with pick up time and drop off time. They also need to be insured. I have seen some on the inteernet but I wanted to get feed back from people that have used them in the past and were happy with them.
Thanks for any help.
My only experience with this was getting a 73 vert from Sarasota to Hartford, CT. Angles Moving Autos was the broker and the actual mover was some guy, I can't remember... Anyway, they got the car here is good shape, cost $800 bucks. They picked up the car as scheduled but the drop off was somewhat of a mystery.. They told me it could take from 4-7 days... it took all of 7 and the car got dropped off around midnight. I guess they drop off and pick up cars along the way up and down the East Coast, therefore they never really know how long the trip is going to take.. I felt bad for the guy driving the truck because he was really putting some time in behind the wheel.. it's all good..

you can search by highest review or other things. I have also heard about using Fedex, many people have been very happy with them even though they are a bit more expensive than most.
I've read/heard nothing but good things about Horseless Carriage, though I have never used them. I believe FedEx also ships cars, and have heard good things about them too. I am sure companies like that have plenty of insurance.
i made the mistake of doing an online quote thing from san antonio to tampa over the internet. In the past 2 days i have received over 100 emails and 20 phone calls.
Many shady operators involved in auto transport, or so I been told. Many that contact you are brokers, which makes it even more difficult to control the process.
From New Jersey, another big vote for Horseless Carriage. They have their own enclosed trailers, price was reasonable, service excellent. They picked up my vette at my convenience, held onto it for a week also at my request, and delivered it promptly to my new home in NC. The inside of this trailer was like the polished wood floor of a gymnasium. You see they have the lift off the back which means no incline to scrape your car. They transport Lambos and Ferraris with zero ground clearance.
I have used InterCity Lines many times and have never had a problem. http://www.intercitylines.com/
They transport cars for Barret and Jackson (the auctioneers), they will go round the car prior to loading and note any damage /marks etc then do the same when it arrives at the other end, they also put a cover over the car, remember you get what you pay for if you go cheap you may find your car is on an open transport, this means if it is on top it gets hit by trees etc and if it is on the bottom there is a possibility of fluids etc from the car above dripping on it, not good if it is brake fluid.
I have heard many horror stories of using brokers and would never do it.
I have used " Motorsport Transport" he brought my BMW from Arizona to Ohio for $1000. Great guy called daily on progress and was very professional. He is the owner and does everything by himself, it was great. I have used reliable to bring my 1968 corvette from Reno, Nevada to Cincinnati, Ohio and was disappointed with them. They were $1500.

I also have used "Further- Racing" he was a great guy to deal with called a few times a day to let me know the progress. He took my 1968 from Cincinnati, Ohio to Wilson, New York in November. Very professional. Took 1 day to deliver and cost $600.

All of these prices were enclosed trailers. Mark from Motorsport Transport recommended Ryan to me and are good friends both guys are great and you would be very pleased with either one.
