Default replacing weather stripping

It is time to replace the old weather stripping on the T-Top of my '73. I also want to replace the rubber at the rear of the side windows.I am hoping to find some advice and pointers to make the job as smooth as possible.
Thanks for any help at all.

I used '3M' general purpose adhesive cleaner to get all the old rubber and sealer off, just cover your seats and carpet because as all the little pieces come off they can stain, then follow Willcox instructions and the installation will go just fine.
I used the black adhesive. PG.

Thank you for the reply (s). Before I pull the weatherstrippin; are there any pins or is there groove to indicate exactly where the new stripping goes?

Thanks again

Be very sure the W/S you purchase is manufactured by Corvette Rubber Corp.

It is the ONLY stuff that fits and generally works nicely -- short of finding NOS stuff of eBay.

DO NOT buy any of the SoftSeal junk..........

As for as pins ...
There are 18 of them holding thw W/S on the T-top.
Sometimes you get lucky and they will come out as you remove the WS, sometimes they just remain in the holes.
For any of the ones that stay behind - very carefully - find a pair of plier (or other tool) that you can slip in behind the little tabs, and very slowly wiggle the plastic pin out of the hole. Try very hard NOT to tear the small tabs off.
What you don't want to happen is to have the small piece in the hole fall into the insideof the t-top.
If one or two fall in, not a big issues. If you get to many they rattle around inside.

The side WS - whole other issue.
At the bottom of the WS, there is a aluminum rivit holding the WS assembly in place. The rivit goes through the car and into the passenger compartment. Best way to be able to get at the old part is to remove the rear quarter plastic piece inside the car and possibly the upper rear halo on the same side.

Just drill out the old rivit etc...

Hope thise helps some - kind of writting this from memory..

Another thought - while you're at it. Get some black ribbon caulk from NAPA - about $16 - and use it between the front window glass and the stainless trim -good way to prevent leaks and give the car a finished look.

That was great information! Thank you. I should be able to do it blindfolded now. ( almost )
