I have a new alternator I installed last year, and maybe I didn't tighten it enough. The car runs and charges fine, but under the hood to check for a power steering leak, I noticed the top bolt had gone missing. The one on the slider for tension(I don't know what it's called)...
I need to buy a replacement for the bolt, either at an auto parts store, or a hardware store. Does anyone have the size?
And maybe to aid other people who are searching, maybe this thread title is good enough so other people could post the rest of the bolt sizes, because i don't know if the L82, etc, have different bolt sizes.
It's 5/16 USS (standard) thread about 1" long. Use a USS flat washer and split ring lock washer. Length is kind of up to you 1" will for sure be enough, but you may want to use a 3/4" long. You call it.
