Broken Rear End ?
Yesterday I was cruising down woodward and there was this vette ahead of me and then all of a sudden this black thing on the underside rear of the corvette fell down and started dragging. It was still connected to the car but it was sparking and grinding on the ground. Then this silver thing flew off, it kinda looked like a clamp, and the black object started leaking as he was slowing down to pull into a gas station.
Anyone what that piece was? I'm interested in see what happened to his car.

That black thing was the spare tire bottom carrier. Don't know about the silver thing as a tire lock did come with Vettes but it was encased in rubber. It probably fell down (as mine did) because he didn't have a spare tire in it and it wasn't tied off..

MY spare tire cover has a small weep hole for water (to get out)but Ill bet his was clogged or something and holding water.The little rubber looking thing was the lock its covered up with rubber,so its not supposed to rust(ya right)it locks the spare tire up if correctly put on.
