Does anyone have any experience with mounting surface mounting speakers against the rear deck area above where the courtesy light mounts against the rear wall. Any suggestions on what type of speakers to buy or how to mount them is greatly appreciated. I dont want to mount them on the floor the t-tops will cover them when removed and stored. Thank once again for the help.
There are several threads on this topic. Alot of owners build or buy a box to mount speakers in. You can build one that allows T-tops to still fit. I have looked at the clearance behind the back wall, and there is enough room to flush mount speakers right in the wall, but bear in mind it is exposed to weather and the fuel tank is right there (I think about 4-5 inches behind the bulkhead.)
By far, the most elegant solution is to mount a small sub in the jack compartment, power it with an amp, and mount 6.5 in. rounds in the kick panels. Not coincidently, that's what I did! I like the sound and the only problem is what to do with the jack.
