I have a '78 vette, an L82. I bought it and it has been worked on for the last 40+ days. I may paint but probably next year. That brings me to the weatherstripping, one of the last things I'll be doing.
There are a lot of weatherstrippiing packages out there and I wondered if anyone had strong feelings about any specific package?
The one from Eckler's claims to be the best due to the higher quality of the side window vertical strips to the rear (with metal inserts). They have one of the more expensive kits/packages too @ $279. Willcox Corvette has theirs at $221, etc.
Any advise from someone with actual experience would be appreciated.
(I could buy a less expensive package and then the 2 vertical strips from Eckler's and still be a few bucks ahead of buying their whole package.)
This forum is truly great and I really do appreciate the thoughtful and good advice that I see on here every time I log in!
The weatherstrips that we carry are made by Corvette Rubber Co. or known as CRC. They are made in the US and are the highest quality available on the market. The door glass rears do include the original style metal retainer in them; the outer parts of the weather strip include the skin as original.
I don’t think there is anyone that will dispute CRC is he best quality
I just today finished installing my weatherstripping that I purchased from Willcox a couple of years ago. Everything fit great and installed easily. It looks and feels like stripping on my new car. I would not hesitate to recommend Willcox. It's a quality product.

Maybe 3 weeks ago I put a new top on the '72 vert, and the weatherstriping came from Willcox....fits fine, works nice, is damn nearly OEM in every respect I can see from the old stuff coming off after 25 years....
Thanks to everyone for the replies. I have spent a ridiculous amount of money with Norm at Willcox over the past 40 days and have been very pleased with everything.
Norm has been especially great! I'm going to call him again it looks like.
I just wondered if anyone had a strong feeling either way about any specific product. Willcox it is...
