Growing up I had an uncle that used to race C3's. He's been deceased now for quite a few years and was never married. Does anyone know of a way to try to track down his old corvettes? He used to drive and race C3's in the late 70's early 80's and I think it would be really cool to track down one of his old cars.
His name was Everett Schubert and lived in Houston.

Search the C3 registry...but you'll need some info to find it, like a VIN.
You can try the Texas DMV, treasurer, tag office or whatever they call it but you will need to produce enough information for them to be able to dig up the records (assuming they were registered).
At a minimum, his name, address and the year it was registered at that address, the year make and model of the car. Again, the more information the better.
I don't know what the privacy laws are like in Texas but since they were your uncles cars they may not be able to supply you anything. On the other hand I think privacy laws become null and void once the subject has deceased.
Once you get a VIN you can Google it and see if it has ever been listed for sale on a web site.
I was able to locate my '65 convertible after 23 years exactly this way. In fact I just spoke to the current owner for the first time today.
Good Luck

the executor of his estate should be able to get any info out there regarding him..
yes most likely the DMV will laugh at you if you ask for info on someone else's car.
Do your family tree thing and start with your uncle's relatives in Houston, especially his immediate family (your cousins). They may know where some of his old Corvettes went. I would think they would have some old family photos of him and his cars they could share.
I thought about contacting the DMV but I have almost no info on the cars. Unfortunately my uncle never married & had no kids. The cars were sold long before he passed so digging up info may be impossible. I think info on cars is public here but I don't know for sure. Guess I'll try to contact the DMV.
