Hello, my father has a '78 with air conditioning that he is restoring and is having problems with the blower motor. He said ever since he bought the car, when you turn the igniton on the blower motor always runs on low even when the fan switch is off. He bought a new heater control panel with all new switches, relay and resistor and this did not help!!! I was over at his house today and looked over everything and it all looks good, all wires and conectors are in good shape and hooked up. Another thing i found that was weird was when i unpluged the conectors from the heater controls the fan was still blowing on low! Is this normal ? I read that Corvettes came with Astro Ventalation but to my understanding '75 was the last year they came in this model . Please help !
Yes, that's the way it is designed. Low gets power from the fuse box & bypasses the switch.
I changed low to off a long time ago & have posted many times how to do it.
Blower A/C Vent
Low to Off
There is a 4 wire T connector at resistor connection on A/C evap. box under hood on pass. side forward of the high blower relay & hood spring. Pull connector & bend down the connector to dk. brown wire & reconnect.
