I own a studebaker and a 1971 LT-1 Corvette. I would never do that to a Vette especially a flat head 6. The engine came out in 1939 . They at least had an oil pump and bearing inserts instead of poured babbit like most engines then They were an ok engine in their day. In 1961 they did an overhead valve conversion. The over head was used until 1964. After that Studebaker used the Chevy 6 and small block V-8 until 1966 when they went out of business for good. You can look at it this way - in the end even studebaker didn't use a Studebaker 6 cylinder . They used a Chevy. I think the car should be changed back to a chevy engine . I wouldn't use that engine in a studebaker or a chevy
